Calen Settles Captures State in Long Jump
On Friday, June 4th Senior Calen Settles made Clark History in winning the Div 3 State Long Jump held at Jesse Owens Stadium on the campus of Ohio State.

In windy conditions on his 4th of 6 total jumps Calen jumped 22 feet 5.25 inches. This jump held strong the rest of the event outlasting the 2nd place finisher who jumped 22 feet 4.25 inches.

This is Clark's first ever State Champion and it couldn't have happened to a better individual. Calen finished 4th in the state last year however had much to balance this spring with college admissions, senior project and Race to the Commencement. In true student-athlete form he managed his time well, graduated with over a 5.0 Weighted GPA and still found a way to stand atop the podium today as the state champ. For his family, coaches and friends who attended it truly was a special moment for Clark Montessori. Calen will continue his academic studies and track at Miami University in the fall.

2 Clark Student Athletes Honored for Anthony Munoz Scholarship

Clark Montessori congratulates seniors Asia Underwood and Jameesa Rucker, finalist for the Anthony Munoz Scholarship. Over 300 applications were reviewed and Asia and Jamessa, along with two other CPS student-athletes were among the final 18. Munoz and WCPO's John Popovich will join the 18 seniors in celebrating their all-around achievements at Jeff Ruby's Steakhouse on April 27th. 2010.

About Clark Montessori

Clark Montessori is a college preparatory, magnet school in the Cincinnati Public School system.  We are located on an eleven acre campus in Hyde Park, on the former estate of Ohio Governor Myers Cooper.

Clark Montessori received a rating of  "Excellent" from the State of Ohio on its 2003 Report Card -- the State's highest category.

Clark Montessori has been identified by the William Gates Foundation as one of five model high schools in the United States.

In 2003, Cincinnati Magazine recognized Clark Montessori as one of just four "Schools That Rule" in Greater Cincinnati.
