Dr. Dean Blase is thrilled to be working at Clark — again! She taught 11-12 English at Clark for seven years before leaving to join the inaugural cohort of Harvard’s Educational Leadership Doctoral Program.
During her five years away from Clark, Dean helped to launch the Cincinnati Gifted Academy, worked as the Community Engagement Coordinator for Cambridge (MA) Public Schools, and served as the Assistant Superintendent of Teaching and Learning for Wellesley (MA) Public Schools.
Her experiences taught her that, while many districts and schools are trying to 'devise a plan,' no one comes close to Clark in preparing a vigorous learning environment where students are engaged in experiential learning, social justice, and individualized learning within a strong community. She is excited to return to a place that works hard every day to accomplish these goals.
Assistant Principal, Mr. Eric Higgins
The new Assistant Principal of Clark Montessori, Mr. Eric Higgins, is ecstatic to be a Clark Cougar! This is his 22nd year in education in various capacities. He has taught 7 years of middle school science and 3 years of middle school social studies. In addition, he spent 4 years as a high school athletic director, and this is his 8th year as an assistant principal in Cincinnati Public Schools. This is his first Montessori experience. He is a strong believer in the Montessori philosophy and he is eager to start his Montessori pedagogy this coming summer.
