Principal, Dr. Dean Blase
Dr. Dean Blase is thrilled to be working at Clark! Dr. Blasé became Clark’s fourth principal in 2015, though her experience with the school goes back much further. Dr. Blase taught 11-12 English at Clark for seven years before leaving to join the inaugural cohort of Harvard’s Educational Leadership Doctoral Program.
During her five years away from Clark, Dr. Blase helped to launch the Cincinnati Gifted Academy, worked as the community engagement coordinator for Cambridge (Massachusetts) Public Schools, and served as the assistant superintendent of teaching and learning for Wellesley (Massachusetts) Public Schools.
Her experiences taught her that, while many districts and schools are trying to “devise a plan,” no one comes close to Clark in preparing a vigorous learning environment where students are engaged in experiential learning, social justice and individualized learning within a strong community. She is excited to be with people who work hard every day to accomplish these goals.
Assistant Principal, Eric Higgins
Eric Higgins is ecstatic to be a Clark Cougar!
Higgins brings more than two decades of experience in education to the Clark community. He taught seven years of middle school science and three years of middle school social studies. In addition, he spent four years as a high school athletic director and more than eight years as an assistant principal in Cincinnati Public Schools before coming to Clark. He is a strong believer in the Montessori philosophy.
