Announcements Week of Sept. 10, 2017

September 10, 2017

Principal's letter

As you know, tomorrow is the 16th anniversary of the tragic 9/11 terrorist attacks in New York City, Pennsylvania and Washington, D.C. Approximately 3,000 people lost their lives as a result of the hijacking of four commercial airlines. As a Montessori school, we work hard to help our students understand the implications of human relations and the potential for world peace.

We will take a moment Monday, 9/11, to reflect upon the people who perished as a result of the 9/11 attacks, the brave rescue efforts that averted further loss of life, and the spirit of democracy that cannot be extinguished. Many people observe a moment of silence at 8:46 AM (Eastern Daylight Time). This marks the time that the first plane flew into the World Trade Center.

“Let us wait, and be always ready to share in both the joys and difficulties which the child experiences. Let us have endless patience with their slow progress, and show enthusiasm and gladness at their successes.” –Maria Montessori
