Principal Eric Higgins

Principal Eric Higgins is ecstatic to be at Clark, where every day is a great day to be a Cougar!

For the 5th year as principal at Clark Montessori, Principal Higgins will instill his philosophy on education that “education is for all students, it just looks different for each of them. With the right environment, proper resources, active engagement, and timely support and feedback, I believe students are able to thrive.” Principal Higgins brings almost three decades of experience in education to the Clark community, including ten years as a middle school teacher, four years as a high school athletic director, and nine years as an assistant principal in the CPS district. 

In July of 2023, Principal Higgins completed his Montessori administration credential. The Montessori philosophy includes core aspects of independence and community - both of which are also important to Principal Higgins. He is honored to support Clark students in finding their own place in society, whatever that might be, through the many opportunities that Clark Montessori offers for exploration of real world activities. To Principal Higgins, it’s not just about learning objectives and state scores - it is that and so much more. It is nurturing valorization and providing the whole child education.

Principal Higgins is a basketball and volleyball referee in his spare time and enjoys traveling and spending time with his family.
